The Black Pearl King Oyster is an oyster mushroom hybrid. It is the result of a cross between a European and an Asian Pleurotus ostreatus. It grows and looks much like King Oyster in the beginning as it matures it will look more like a Grey/Pearl Oyster. It has a meaty yet airy flavour with hints of sweetness and early undertones. When cooked, it packs a savoury punch and is a reliable ingredient for adding umami flavour to a dish.
